Since 2019, JW Anderson has been creating 18 collections per year including collections for Loewe and those with Uniqlo and other collaborations.
And in 2023, not only was he awarded the British Fashion Council’s Designer of the Year Award, but also received the ever so coveted International Designer of the Year award from the CFDA.
WHY WE LOVE HIM.
VIBE TWLV is all about the supernormal. No one is normal, normal is nothing.
- He did not follow the road that your “typical” fashion designer or creative director of a fashion house follows. He did not attend Central St. Martins for one, and did not even work in a fashion house as a designer. He just created his own label.
- The man made penis keychains normal. When he first introduced them, it was an abomination. But now, everyone dotes on them.
Jonathan Anderson has found the perfect combination of maximalism and minimalism.
He took one of the oldest heritage brands in existence (Loewe) to a whole new modern level and made it relevant to us all. He has managed to transform Loewe without losing the minimalist aesthetic and artisanal craftsmanship.
